The votes are in, and . . .

I MADE IT! I am not going to lie, I was beginning to doubt myself when I heard that they were only accepting 3 transfer students this year. But, I am pleased to announce that I got into the BYU photography program. YEAH!

(and my letter to prove it:)

Dear Aubry Tucker,

Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted as a Visual Arts student in the Photography track as a Sophomore beginning Fall 2009. This enrollment to the Department is contingent upon your acceptance to the University and maintaining your status as a student at the University.

Please be aware that you are required to complete all 200 level courses during your first academic year in the Department. You are expected to begin coursework within the Department of Visual Arts during your first semester at BYU and complete the core classes by the end of your first academic year in the program.

For Current BYU Students or Transfer Students:
You will need to register online for your classes. The classes you are required to take will be the sophomore classes on the MAP sheet. When you come to BYU in the winter you will need to get an updated copy of our Major Academic Plan (MAP) sheet (D444 Advisement Center). You are required to begin coursework during your first semester at BYU as a student in our Department and complete this level of the program during your first academic year.

Please note the following:
Your portfolio is ready to be picked up in E509 HFAC. The portfolio has already been returned to you if you provided a self-addressed stamped envelope or you have made other arrangements to have it picked up.
To accept or decline your admittance to the Visual Arts Department, you must email us by April 20, 2009 at
sonya_schiffman@byu.edu . If you do not respond by this date, you will forfeit your acceptance. Be sure to include your name and your BYU ID number.
We welcome you to the Department and hope that you will be successful. We invite you to make an appointment with the College of Fine Arts Advisement Center, (801) 422-3777, and become acquainted with their services. Our advisement center has up-to-date information for you, and the advisors will assist you in working toward your graduation goals.
