This past weekend we went to "The Red Barn" aka Rowley's South Ridge Farms down in Santaquin, Utah to visit their pumpkin patch. For a few years now, every October I have been seeing all these pictures via facebook and blogs of families going to apple orchards and pumpkin patches. I have never seen any advertisements for them around Provo/Salt Lake and didn't think Utah had any. Well, this year I decided to look into it. All the picture I have seen make it look so fun and I wanted in. Lucky for us there were more then I expected and we had a handful to choose from within an hour or so from our house.
After some research, we decided to go to the Red Barn. There is another one in Riverton, Utah that looks like a lot of fun too, so we might go visit that one as well. But we thought the Red Barn would be great for our family's first since it was only about 30 minutes away.
We had an awesome time. We had some delicious cinnamon and sugar donuts, the most FANTASTIC milkshake I have ever had (made with fresh raspberries), went on a hay ride, visited the pumpkin patch, picked out the perfect pumpkin, took lots of pictures, and had the best time! Jada was grumpy earlier in the day and we were worried our trip would be cut short. But, she loved it. She loved every minute of it, especially riding on the John Deere tractor and climbing on the pumpkins. All in all it was a great day! If you live in the area, you should go. And don't forget to get yourself a fresh raspberry milkshake!
