I can't believe it has already been 6 weeks. In many ways it feels like we have had him forever, but in other ways it seems so short.
Tucker is growing so fast. Just in the past 2 weeks, he has started to smile more and more and seems to be able to see and focus on more objects. He often stares at me as I feed him and change him and often smiles at me while I talk to him, which melts my heart.
We had a bit of a rough start, but things are getting better. About a week after we brough him home, Tucker started having a hard time in the evenings. More often then not, he would cry for awhile, finally fall askeep, then wake up screaming after only a few minutes. This would continue for 3 or so hours. To make things worse, he wouldn't go right back to sleep in the middle of the night either. Instead he liked to stay awake for a couple hours, usually between 3-5 AM. Needless to say, those weeks were very hard. My mom was nice enough to hold him while I got some sleep on many occasions (while Michael was here in GA and we were still in UT), then Michael took her place our first week here. In good news that phase only lasted 3 or so weeks and is over.
Tucker still likes to be awake in the middle of the night a few times a week but has stopped crying. He is happy, just awake. He is slowly getting better at going right back to sleep after eating. He also likes to be held while he sleeps, which can be tricky. We are working on that. Luckily, we are finally starting to get some sleep around here. Not a ton, but more then we were so things are looking up:)
Besides sleeping, Tucker eats:) He is a great eater and eat every 3 hours, almost on the dot. Some nights he has gone 5 or so hours between feedings which has been heavenly, but that's not a regular thing.
He is getting stronger and stronger and does a good job of holding up his head. He enjoys baths, coo's occasionally, and is a good sport and doesn't cry when Jada smothers him with love. I think I have finally figured out how to keep him happy most of the time and know what to do when he gets upset to calm him down. He likes a binkie every now and then, and loves to be swaddled.
Tucker is one cute baby and we just love him. One of my favorite things that he does is laugh in his sleep . . . it's pretty awesome. I love his smiles, his big wide eyes, and his adorable little face. We are so happy to have him with us. We love you Tucker!
