Towards the end of February, Michael's parents were able to come visit us for a little over 4 days. They flew in late Thursday night and left the following Tuesday afternoon. We were so excited to have them come. The kids were pretty stoked about some one-on-one time with their Gramma and Grandpa J!
While we knew they just came to spend time with us and weren't looking to be entertained, we tried our best to fill those precious hours with lots of memories and fun.
On Friday, Michael had to go to work, and Jada had school. She was a bit sad to miss an entire day with Gramma and Grandpa, so we decided to surprise her with a visit. We all (brother's included) went and surprised her with lunch and lunch visitors. She was so happy and excited to have her brothers and Gramma and Grandpa there. She wanted to show them off to her teachers and friends. Jada even treated her brothers to some chocolate milk . . . her favorite. I am so glad we went. Despite Memphis taking laps around the table and struggling to stay in his seat, it was perfect. At least all the staff and schoolmates all thought he was adorable and not out of control:) We love visiting Jada at school.
On Monday, President's Day, we decided to take a day trip to Chattanooga. Michael and I stopped there briefly on our way to Nashville last year and loved it and have been meaning to take the kids back for more adventuring. So we took the opportunity.
We started our morning off with breakfast at The Maple Street Biscuit Company. A favorite. Their biscuits and gravy are AMAZING! If you haven't been to Chattanooga or to the Maple Street Biscuit Company, its a must. you won't regret it.
Following our breakfast, we went for a walk across the Walnut Street Bridge. It was the perfect day for taking a stroll. Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying the weather and beauty of Chattanooga.
After Rock City, we were all pretty tired from our long day and ready to head home. On our way out of town, we spotted Mr. T's and had to stop to take a picture of our Mr T, with "Mr. T's". We were all still stuffed from breakfast and not quite ready for dinner, so we made the big mistake of not even trying their ice cream or pizza (which I hear are both amazing) but at least we got the photo. Next time we will have to add Mr. T's to our list of places to visit.
Tuesday came all to fast, and before we knew it, Gramma and Grandpa were headed home. It was so wonderful to have them here. We sure love our Gramma and Grandpa J! Hopefully we will see them again soon!
